Next in the Grand Tour series we have a direct sequel to the book Saturn (http://jan.saell.org/blog/wp-admin/post.php?post=4508). Spacestation Goddard has arrived and made orbit around the ringed planet Saturn.
Chief administrator, Malcolm Eberly is planing the re-election campaign. His major opponent is Holy Lane, that is running against him. She gets help from here sister, Pancho Lane comes out to visit and stays on to help her with her election.
In this book in the Grand Tour series we are going back to research station Gold around Jupiter. In the book Jupiter (http://jan.saell.org/blog/wp-admin/post.php?post=4189) Grant Archer was one of the Scientist that went down in the oceans of Jupiter and found the one of Jupiter’s native creatures – a city-sized leviathan.
Its now 20 years later and we are back on the research station. Archer has a staff of scientists ready and eager to send a vessel of highly advanced design into Jupiter’s ocean hoping to communicate with the Leviathans, whom they suspect are intelligent.
Ja så var det dags för jul med mina barn. Både Eva och Zarah jobbade ju under jul så det gick inte att få till en tid som passade innan trettondags afton.
Så nu i söndags bar det av upp till Zarah. Jag och Eva åkte ca 11 från Farsta, och upp till Uppsala. Irmelie var hemma hos Stefan och om Ylva skulle ha hämtat henne skulle det ta henna 2 timmar på bussen så vi hade gjort upp att vi hämtar henne och att Ylva åker ned till centralen, så blir det inte sån lång omväg att både hämta Irmelie och Ylva.
När vi var nära Stefan så fick jag ringa till Irmelie’s nya telefon som hon fick i julklapp. En ganska stolt liten dotterdotter svarade. 😀
When windows appeared way back we had the file system FAT, then we got FAT32. But it still has a lot of limitations. Mostly the inability to handle single files larger than 4GB. When the USB sticks gets biggen and bigger the more common one to use is exFAT.
exFAT is built on the simplicity of FAT but designed specifically for large volume flash media, the type of which we now find in memory cards for cameras, portable USB drives and so on. Continue reading
Till nyår ska man ju göra något gott, och min ide iår var att göra Beef Wellington eller Oxfile Wellington. Det traditionella receptet är faktiskt att man ska ha madeira sås till, men jag ville ha lite starkare så det blev grönpepparsås.
Om man ska följa Per Mobergs recept så kan man ju göra egen köttfond, det tar ju bara 6 timmar så 🙂 så det fick vara. Det blev färdig fond.
Namnet Beef Wellinton ska endera komma från Arthur Wellesley, hertig av Wellington, eller ska så den bara vara en fransk kocks ide om ett engelskt namn på filet de bœuf en croûte under the Napoleonic Wars. En annan teori är att den som Clarissa Dickson Wright påstår i en av sina böcker är att den skapades för en mottagning i Wellingron, New Zealand.
Jaha då har man gett sej in på ett nytt år – 2014. Full fart på jobbet från första början.

This book in the Grand Tour series is a bit different from the other ones. Most of the main characters we haven’t met before. One of the connection to the previous books is Holy Lane, younger sister to Pancho Lane, the head of Astro corporation that we have grown to know during the prevision books.
The book is about the space habitat Goddard, filled with political exiles, social misfits, scientists, and engineers, is on its way to orbit around Saturn. There, the habitat will become mankind’s first offworld colony.
