Bloglovin out Liferea in

I have been following a number of blogs for a while, and I have been using a blog aggregator/subscription server/service bloglovin.com for quite some time. But after a week of irritation did I switch to Liferea rss reader today. The problem with bloglovin.com was that it had a advertising space at the top. I don’t have that much problem with that as such but they have made it in flash and for some reason it had the wrong display index or whatever it is called so it happened to be on the top of all, and blocking the first 2 top items. And on top of this, this morning the website was down – not for long but just when I wanted to read my blogs 🙁

So i started looking on what people out there was recomending for reading new/blogs/rss feeds and it seems that the most used program was Liferea. So I did go ahead and tried to download and install it:

And the system came back and said it was already installed. Thats why i felt it was famillear. So i started it up from the Internet menu. And it pops up, shows some new items, and dies after 5 seconds. Aha thats what I had before to and that stopped me from using it. As I was a bit more eager to get it to work today I was debugging it a bit more.

I started up a terminal window and started liferea there so that I could get some error logs or so, if it produced it. And I got:

Hum. Google to the rescue. After searching on Liferea signal 11 i found out some pointres to a problem with it and the fact that wins network resolution was a problem. As im not using that, its not a problem to disable it.

Change the line:

and remove wins – to:

And now liferea works nicely
