Mars Life

The next book in the Grand Tour series is Mars Life. It’s twenty years after the events in Return to Mars, and the fourth planet from the Sun belongs to the Navaho nation, so long as at least one member of the tribe resides there.

The New Morality sees the discoveries on Mars as a threat to their doctrine, not to mention their hegemony. And to fix this they tries to make the money for the mars foundation to dry up so that the exploration of mars is stopped.

Mars_LIfeTwenty years ago Jamie Waterman did found the cliff dwellings on mars, proving intelligent race lived on the red planet 65 million years ago, only to be driven into extinction by the crash of a giant meteor. Now there are a scientific outpost there with about 200 people investigation the Red Planet.

The second major character in the book is Carter Carleton, an anthropologist, who is trying to find more proof that there where intelligent life in Mars. He finds early in the book a new martian village with more remains of the martians.

Back on earth the New Morality do all kind of things to put a stop to the exploration, makeing it almost impossible for the Mars foundation to get funding for the project.

The book is another one that is hard to put down, and quite easy to read/listen to.
