Yes im still playing EVE, and one thing you really need in eve is a skill monitor, tracking what you training and planing what you need to train. As a linux youse you cant use the mots used windows one – evemon – but there is a alternative – gtkevemon.
Well its been working untill CCP changes all api calls to ssl a few weeks ago. Apparently the guy that developed the gtkevemon is not playing any longer so the version you can download that is compiled is out of date, but there is a source (at BattleClinic) that is updated and works.
I have tried to fix it but where missions some libraries before so today I really tried to fix it. It was not to hard when I got the right libraries. Fist you need to install gtkmm-dev libraries, and the you need the mercurial to get the sources.
Here is what i did:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 |
sudo apt-get install libgtkmm-2.4-dev sudo apt-get install mercurial hg clone https://bitbucket.org/BattleClinic/gtkevemon cd gtkevemon/gtkevemon make sudo make install And now it works like a charm again. |
