When I inserted my new iPad into the USB port I discovered that it did not charge. The message “not charging” popped up a bit annoying. But googling a bit on this and some says its because the ipad3 requires more power than the USB port is giving out.
Apparently it will charge but slowly.
Then I found this page. This will install a small program that will run when you plug in the iPad and set the USB port so that it will charge the iPad.
You can install it directly from the .deb file.
It will install a small program (/usr/bin/ipad_charge) and a udev rule (/etc/udev/rules.d/95_ipad_charge.rules) that will run the program when a iPad is plugged in.
To install it dothe following:
