My top iphone app list 01 – iTimeSheet

After moving over to a iphone I decided to write a bit about the apps that i have downloaded or bought. Some of them absolutely necessary for my life/work and perhaps some less necessary but fun ones. So here is the first one

iTimeSheet

This app i even looked at before I moved over. As I’m a consultant and selling my time its absolutely necessary to keep track of what I’m doing all the time. On my old Palm i had a timesheet application that some one wrote back in 1999 and it worked almost perfectly for me. But this new one is even a bit better.

It has all the nessesary functions that I need:

  • Customer/Client
  • Project
  • Task
  • Billable/Not billabe

And it has a lot of functionality that I don’t need – You can set start end end times if you want to record that. I don’t so I only work with duration.

You can add expenses to it if you want. And you can set different prices for different work and let it tell you the billable rate. I let our accounting system do that, so I don’t care for that.

The god thing with all of this is that most of the functions can be turned on or off in the preferences section. If you don’t want to use it you can turn it off and it wont even display.

So my input windows is very nice and easy to work with.

When you want to export it will make a csv file and mail it to the address you specify, and again there is a lot of different options you can use to specify what and how the export files should look like.

The only “bug” or bad behaviour I have found so far is that sometimes it gets a bit comfused with days as im not doing start and stop times (but it is stored in the database anyway) so sometimes it will say that a entry goes over midnight. You can fix that by turning on start/stop times – setting it as it should be and then turn off the start/stop time again.
